The American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies. In addition to basic life support, this course covers the recognition of and management of a wide range of cardiovascular conditions. Participants apply their knowledge of electrocardiograms (EKGs) and emergency pharmacology to simulate a variety of emergency responses. This course reflects the evidence-based research from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) and is designed for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest, respiratory arrest, and cardiovascular emergencies.

This course is designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-medical facility, prehospital, and home care settings.
